Kimpton’s Hotel Monaco Philadelphia is a modern boutique house made by Las-Vegas based TAL Studio, which cheerfully infuses its upscale, quirky personality into each and every and every single space.
Located in the refurbished Lafayette Developing, originally constructed in 1906, this eleven-story urban hotel presides over the Independence Mall in the City of Brotherly Adore, blending in from the exterior and splendidly surprising from inside. It is the second LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and style) Certified hotel for Kimpton in Philadelphia.
With 268 rooms, 17 suites and 27 King Spa rooms, the eclectic property functions an onsite restaurant, lobby living room and rooftop bar and lounge. Bold hues of red, blue, green and gold create a visual splendor across the contemporary interiors, which mix it up in the ideal possible way. Marble, brass, wood, glass, velvet and leather all play properly collectively, creating a distinct ambiance for guests and visitors to relish. Patterns, prints and just the proper dose of panache turn these spaces into extraordinary locations to loosen up, dine and be entertained.
The reception desk receives a ruby red wall exhibiting an array of brushes, while a crystal chandelier illuminates the antique-looking gilded reception desks. A most comfy space, the living area is cozy with contemporary lilac club chairs, cobalt velvet sofas, yellow-striped wallpaper resembling a difficult candy and the focal point–an ornate white fireplace adorned by a glass screen etched with a fleur-de-lis. Sets of mod white stools sit with votives, coordinating with the candelabra sconces flanking the mantel.
Rooms are sensational havens, feel oversize patterned wallpaper in periwinkle and white. Plush drapes mimic the sophisticated walls, while a Neoclassical chair sports a yellow-and-white striped cushion and darling dachshund silhouette. An Asian-inspired red lacquer cabinet pops against a black-and-white toile-print wall, and ties into the decorative bed rolls stitched with eccentric quotes. A floor lamp with vertical glass bubbles is a whimsical addition to the space, which is just as sophisticated with its tufted white leather headboard framed with a mirrored border. Some of the suites overlook the Independence Historic National Park and are luxuriously appointed with vintage soaking tubs.
The rooftop lounge, Stratus, is a dramatic space for socializing, with luxe black and wood furnishings, high-gloss black accents and fresh greenery like a maple tree and planted ferns. The primary attraction of this sleek space is the 50-foot open, horizontal fireplace which dances beneath the night sky.
A modern boutique home, Hotel Monaco Philadelphia embodies a glamour-meets-kitsch vibe, while ribboned with wealthy urban accents attributing to its historic American city.
